Happy Labor Day

The window shades shook in their place and the floor rolled beneath our feet. I looked up from my glass of lemonade to JD across the kitchen. Instantaneously, we knew what was going on…it was an earthquake. I ran over to Polo and cradled him in my arms and darted to the nearest doorframe, even though JD said it was unnecessary. A few seconds passed and I begged him to join me…afterall, hadn’t he seen all those After School Specials about staying safe, storing non-perishable foods, and never forgetting a can-opener?!? JD reluctantly joined Polo and me under the doorframe and when the shaking subsided, JD leaned in and kissed me. Well, we made it through our first quake together, he said.

Yes, but next time grab a can-opener, I chided.

We spent most of yesterday doing what I do best on Labor Day weekend…shopping. On top of my list of things to buy was a new chair for my desk. JD found a totally phat leather chair that’s perfect for my elevated art desk…I love it! The best part of the chair is that it fits two people, so we can work and surf the web together. So while JD may not want to stand under doorframes with me during an earthquake, it’s nice to know we’ll be chilling together in front of my MAC! 🙂

Happy Labor Day!

Apparently, Polo loves the new chair too! 🙂
