Happy New Year

What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from. — TS Eliot

During this time of year, it’s quite easy to look back and gage how far I’ve come. The goals I met, the mistakes I made, the dreams I chased. These instances, however, merely serve as a starting block for next year. No matter how passionately I insist there’s more to them, I inherently know they were but a brief flicker of time. I am to learn from them, and move forward.

This time last year I was at a juncture in my life where I questioned whether I’d be able to pursue photography as a career. Afterall, if I failed, I’d still be able to go back to law school, with my scholarships fully intact. JD told me that he’d rather see me fail at something I loved, than succeed at something hated. And with that, I made a one-year commitment to photography…you know, to see if it’d work out for me.

Apparently, it has.

I’m SO incredibly excited for what 2008 has in store! I have some fabulous weddings booked, new business ventures to develop, and a fresh desire to be a better wife, daughter, and friend. God has been wonderful and I’m thankful to be experiencing life in so many new ways!

From the bottom of my heart, I want to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR, filled with love, joy and peace!

Happy New Year! I am in a similar situation with my photography as you were a year ago. I would much rather fail at something I love than do what I am doing right now. Thank you for the inspiration that you have given me in 2007.

Happy New Year to you and JD! Hope your trip is going well. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration to me just in the short amount of time I have been reading your blog. I too, like some of the others are moving to that similar spot in my photography. Here’s to a great 2008 to see what our wonderful Lord brings us. Looking forward to meeting you as well this year. Wow Jasmine. I am very curious…did you start last year from "scratch" or had you been dabble-ing in photography for some time? You are just so awesome, I can’t believe that you just started your business a year ago!

This was a great post, Jasmine. I’m just starting what I hope to be a career in photography and I can only hope that God blesses me as much as He has seemed to have blessed you in your career – He has blessed me in other areas of my life and I am aware of that! You are an inspiration and I’m so happy that I stumbled upon your blog this year. I look forward to more inspiring ideas from you – I bought my "inspiration" journal after you posted about yours. Haven’t used it yet, but will this year for sure! Happy New Year!

You’re amazing in so many ways- but most of all as a genuinely loving person. Thank you for continuing to share the wonderfulness that is you with the rest of the world. 😉
