A couple of days ago, I sifted through the thousands of wedding photos I’ve shot and I flagged my favorites. Once I narrowed the photos to 95, I burned them on a CD and sent it to my friend for a project we’re working on. Once finished, I took a step back and looked at the photos as an entire body to discover what I disliked/liked, to determine if there were reoccurring themes, and to figure out ways to get better. The first thing that immediately popped out was my inclination to laughter. Most of the photos I was drawn to were images of my couples laughing…and it made me fall more in love with what I do.

I can’t think of anything better than being in love with your best friend, looking completely fabulous on your wedding day, and being captured mid-laugh alongside your soul mate.

Happy Monday!

That’s EXACTLY how I feel. I always thought that brides that wanted high-end wedding photography would want to look serious the whole time (like pictures in a magazine), but you prove otherwise. I totally agree with just wanting to be with your best bud for the rest of your life and have a good time along the way.

I think that is what draws me to all forms of photography, laughter. I just looked through yours and some other photogs I liked and in almost all cases I "swiped" the ones with the laughter in them. I like having these in my inspiration folder to remind me what is important on the shoot.

The more fun and natural the better

amen sista! I heard about you through billy (of "billy & natalie" fame) and now I have you in my blog roll, love it.
Anyway, i have to say that laughter is the key to the best wedding photos. I couldn’t believe it when the HORRIBLE photography my mom hired told us to STOP SMILING in our photos. WTF!? i almost killed him. and, not surprising, our photos (from him) turned out to be AWFUL. so keep up the good work!!
