Melinda and Vern : Engagement

The grey clouds rolled in and over the red barn making vain threats to part and drip themselves on the clay dirt. Off in the distance, Melinda slipped into her cowboy boots and waited patiently for Vern to slow his sipping of the Rolling Rock balanced in the palm of his hand. She waved to her mother who was watering flowers in the elevated pool area and garden. In just a couple more weeks, Melinda’s parents’ backyard will be transformed to become her reception venue, so everyone was busy planning and making sure the beautiful landscape was ready to accommodate her 150 guests.

Vern made his way over to Melinda…and Charlie followed him like a shadow. They laughed heartily at their dog as he managed to be the center of every photo, but later retired under the shade of the nearby weeping willow tree. Vern refocused his attention to his beautiful bride-to-be and whispered soft words into her ears. Melinda, in return, smiled, danced, and laughed to his sweet nothings.

I’m super bummed I won’t be able to be Melinda and Vern’s wedding photographer, but I was honored when they asked me to still shoot their engagement session! It was an honor and I had SO much fun!! They are two of the coolest people and I’m quite sure God has some pretty awesome things planned for their future. We met at Carlie and Gabriel's wedding a couple months ago, and I’ve been smitten with everything they are…I wish them the best as they wed next month! 😉

Here's the beautiful Melinda…

After shooting in her backyard, we wandered down a nearby path and stopped along the way…the property was SO amazing!

I think Vern got a little over-zealous with his hug! 😉

We then headed over to a lime orchard for a little more fun…

Due to popular demand, here's more information regarding Melinda's boots…they're Frye's Veronica Slouch Boots…and, yes, they're waaaay hot! 🙂
