Parker Palm Springs Wedding : Shannon+Jody

They ran under the rainbow of sparklers at the end of the night, hand-in-hand. After passing the last wedding guest–the golden flares subsiding in the background–Shannon let out a small cry. Tiny tears rolled down her face. Jody stepped close, held her tightly, and wiped. One day couldn't hold all the happiness.

Shannon and Jody waited for their wedding day since college. Two lovebirds loving life in each other's embrace. They carefully planned each portion of the nuptials and everything oozed of their personal touches. It really would have been hard not to. They just love each other. So much. It pulsed through the palm trees at The Parker, and rattled the leaves with force.

In the darkness, Jody held Shannon. They looked back at their guests–laughing, cheering, waving sparklers–and decided to run back in and dance a little bit longer. Because it was their wedding day and they didn't want it to end. One day couldn't hold all the happiness. So they danced a little more.

Shannon and Jody…I know you're in St. Lucia right now working on your tans, but if I know Shannon well enough, she won't rest until she's seen the pictures. Yes, a girl after my own heart. In other news, the flowers you gave me? They're on my table and oh-so-gorgeous. But I'm sure they pale in comparison to what island life looks like. Together. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your love. It means more than you know. Oh, and I can't wait to dance with you at your housewarming party! 😉 Much Love and Appreciation… j*

A pair of Christian Dior's can sure start a wedding day off right…

The blingy bling…

Many thanks to Stacey Craven of Smoke and Mirrors Makeup and Robin Dunn for hair…Shannon looked truly amazing…

I've always wanted to photograph a wedding at The Parker and it didn't disappoint. The light everywhere was amazing. Here, it's illuminating Shannon's Demetrios wedding dress…

The Palm Springs light? Ahmahzing.

Shannon sparkled on her wedding day. Sparkled.

Like usual, I love.love.love when clients opt to see each other before the ceremony for a First Look, as it allows a private moment between the bride and groom…and plenty of time for wedding pictures around The Parker Palm Springs property.

JD's view of the First Look…

My view of the First Look shortly thereafter…

Jody was looking mighty fine as well if I do say so myself…

It was the hottest wedding I'd ever photographed. Ever. Just a few steps and I was already soaked in awesomeness that is Palm Springs glisten. We stepped inside a random room and cooled off. Oh, and the light was just breathtaking.

Because of the heat, we ventured inside The Parker lobby for more wedding photos. Which was totally fine with me because I was in love with the retro vibe and aesthetic…

A few pre-wedding details…

Shannon literally HOURS hand-stitching the aisle runner…it was an adorable labor of love….

JD caught this picture of Shannon peaking out just before walking down the aisle..

The ceremony was extremely beautiful and emotional. I love my job.

With many thanks to Alyssa Walker for her coordination and the ever fab Keisha with The Parker, the wedding reception was just perfect…

Shannon made it a point to focus on small details to help round out her wedding day…

Strung lights for an outdoor wedding reception? Yes, please!

The First Dance…

As Shannon and Jody made their Grand Exit at the end of the night, I couldn't see JD. Which made me nervous. It always makes me nervous if I don't know where he's shooting from at such a critical moment…

….lucky for this amazing couple, JD was outside capturing this moment. Which made for a perfect photo to end the night.
