Reveling in Morning Light

This morning I made a conscious effort to stay away. For a bit. Yesterday I realized I made a mistake and it impacted the rest of my day. I woke up–as usual singing a random song that popped into my head, It Wasn’t Me by Shaggy–kissed my boys, completed my morning routine, and cuddled with my laptop by 6:15am. And that’s when my day fell into a funk.

Or, rather, I fell into a funk.

I let a few emails derail my morning. And it lingered for the rest of the day.

This morning I made a conscious effort to stay away. I woke up and stayed in bed for a bit longer. Reached over the side of my bed and rubbed Polo’s belly for a few more minutes. Listened to the morning chirps more acutely. I realized that the minute my day officially started, I was letting go of the perfection a new day brings. Today I reveled in the pre-morning light. And I’m thankful.

And, really, how bad can a day really be when your dog thinks you’re funny?!

I agree… Cuddling with a dog is the BEST way to start the day! Well, that and a cup (or three!) of caffeine… 😉

Haha, he is so cute! My younger son loves dogs. Older loves cats. Looking at my boys getting along from very early in the morning makes me think that dogs and cats can get along, too 🙂

Anyways, regarding mornings. I pulled off an all nighter today till 7 in the morning. Went to sleep. My 3 year old took care of his little brother as much as he could. I couldn’t sleep and woke up in an hour. Found the living room all messed up with cookies and water, lol. My older son says he tried to give his brother breakfast. I love this morning so much!

It doesn’t matter how bad I feel. Laying on the floor with my dog and rubbing her belly reminds to be like a dog and stay in the moment. My troubles are always gone after snuggling with her.

Starting the day with the dog is always a good way to go. I start everyday with a morning dog walk and it’s the most perfect time of the day. He never complains and has such a sweet spirit. Whatever else happens, something good happened first. P.S. Your dog is too cute!

You inspire me everyday. I’m not a wedding photographer *yet*, but when I grow up, I’ll be one. I dream of being as good as you. A girl can dream, right? Don’t give anybody the satisfaction of throwing you into a funk. You are fabulous, trully fabulous.

Guuurrrrrllll tell me someone wasn’t being mean to you on email. I will get all ghetto on them if you let me!! 🙂 Hold me back, hold me back!!!! Seriously sometimes we let the negative get the better of us. Like they say it takes one negative person to bring an entire room of positive people down. (or something like that) and its true. But focus on the good and everything seems to always work out. You are wonderful in every possible way. Keep your head up girl. Much love being sent your way. MUAH!!!!
