Skip’s Summer School

If I was being honest, I'm not that type of girl. The type who anxiously awaits trips to Sin City, packs a bikini for the poolside cabana, and hopes to dance on a table at some point during her stay…only later to create a photo album on Facebook entitled, Vegas, baby! In fact, I'm probably her polar opposite. The opposite who buys a protein bar en route to her hotel room and takes pictures from the 33rd floor. Because, really, THE COLOR GRADATION OF SUNSET WAS JUST AMAZING.

I had the fortunate opportunity to speak at Skip's Summer School yesterday and it was a true honor. Photographers from around the world gathered in Las Vegas for the conference and I had a blast. The energy of the group was awesome and I had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people.

I wholeheartedly admit I'm an unworthy candidate to be sharing a stage with the other speakers, some photographers who've been shooting longer than I've been alive. People who win every print competition, every album design, every everything. And then there's me. A girl who picked up a camera four years ago and decided to make things work. That's all I have. A story. I share my experience in hopes of passing along a little of what I do, who I am. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be good enough at what I do I'll be dancing on a table in Vegas. Until then, me, my protein bar, and my sunsets are simply happy.

Many thanks to Kenny Kim for the photos…

Happy Tuesday!
