The 25 Rules to My Life

Some of the best advice I received growing up was live by your own rules. And then I was like, oh, hey, yeah…rules! But never made them up. So today I'm blogging Twenty Five Rules to Living a Good Life According to Me.

Some are my own, some are stolen from people whose lives I want to imitate.

It's more important to be kind than it is to be right.
Thank the bus boy.
Eat lunch with the kid who's sitting alone.
Buy the orange properties in Monopoly.
Admit when you're wrong.
Call your grandma.
Be the loudest when singing the national anthem in a group.
Never cancel dinner plans via text message.
If a street performer makes you stop, you owe him a buck.
Smile at strangers.
If you wear heels, don't complain about it.
Be the first to apologize.
Don't answer the phone during dinner.
It's okay to ask stupid questions.
Never be the last one in the pool.
If you make a promise, keep it.
Buy a nice suitcase.
Stay humble.
Know how to cook one good meal.
Dance with your dad.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
You don't have to be the smartest or the fastest, but be the toughest.
Give credit, take blame.
It's better to look like a fool on the dance floor than sitting on the bench alone.
Make the little things count.

Happy Friday!
