Wedding Albums : Leather Craftsmen

At the end of last year, I realized big changes were in store for my business in 2014. I don't know how else to describe it, but I felt like I needed to shed my old skin and grow into being me. I'm going on my ninth year shooting weddings and over the years I've changed, so I needed my brand to reflect my business renaissance.

Last December I launched a newly designed blog and later this month I'll be unveiling the new JasmineStar.com…it's exciting and slightly nerve-wracking at the same time to showcase new sides of your creativity. One thing that doesn't have me so nervous is showing my new sample albums!

Leather Craftsmen has been making my albums since the beginning of my business, so I was beyond excited to order three new albums to showcase to clients. It was important for me to have a way to visibly show where I'm headed with my photography and a photo book does this flawlessly.

I offer three sizes of wedding albums: 8×10, 11×14, and a 12×12. Each album is 15 pages (30 sides) with the 8×10 including 55 images, and the 11×14 and the 12×12 including 65 images. If the client would like to add more photos, she can by paying for each additional image she'd like.

I'm proud to say I work with an album designer, Amy Nave of Albumesque, to help design the album. She and I work well as a team and my brides are always thrilled with the editorial-style layouts (large imagery, use of negative space, no busy collages, etc.)

One of my favorite things about Leather Craftsmen albums is their attention to detail and ability to personalize the album, both for the client as well as for myself. My name and logo is embossed on every album cover, and I adore the cover photo and inscription on the front cover for my clients.

I recently had a prospective client meeting and it felt really good to show an album of my work and the direction I'm headed. If you'd like to check out Leather Craftsmen albums, be sure to drop Ira Gershoff an email…he's been helping me since 2006 and is wonderful at explaining the wedding album process (ira@leathercraftsmen.com).
