2013 J* Workshop

I didn't think know what to think…and I debated going back and forth what I should do. I love teaching photography workshops, especially the one I personally host here in Orange County, California, but my schedule was stretched so thin I didn't know if I could keep up with the pace the business was functioning.

A few months ago, I made the decision to host one or two workshops this year instead of the usual four we've done in the past. This will help create the balance between two things I dearly love: shooting weddings and teaching.

I'm excited to announce the next workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Orange County!! For details and information, you can visit JasmineStarWorkshop.com.

The day will be filled with the steps I took to start my business, branding components, how I market my business, and a live shoot (all photos you take can be used in your portfolio). All meals will be provided, including extra dessert. Obvs.

If you'd like to read full Workshop retrospectives, you can do do on this post by Mark Potter and this post by Gladys Jem. And here are a few nice things past students have said about theWorkhop…

“Jasmine is fun…and let's face it…HILARIOUS!! She is every bit as real as you'd imagine she is, and that's huge. You don't realize how important it is at a workshop to feel a connection to the instructor…but it makes the experience so much more impacting. Beyond that, Jasmine is a wealth of information and she shares it all so freely. If you're on the fence…jump off and sprint toward registering! You most definitely will not regret it.” – Shannon Karczewski

“Energetic, Fun and Always Fabulous…Jasmine Star brings her brand expertise, business savvy and provides a detail packed seminar…one you don't want to miss!” – Lyn Walker

“The J* Workshop changed my life, I know it sounds cheesy but it's true. Not only was it amazing to meet Jasmine (whom I admired) and JD but its been more than 2 years since I attended and still keep in touch with all the wonderful photographers I met at the workshop. It was inspiring and I learned so much!!! I definitely recommend it to any photographer who is looking to jumpstart their business! I'd travel cross country every year to attend the workshop if I could!” – Maria Fuentes-Archilla

“It was one hundred percent worth the time and money spent to attend. I learned so much from Jasmine and her awesome husband, JD, and have been reeling from the experience ever since! AND I had tons of fun meeting the other amazing wedding photographers who attended the workshop, too! The highlight of the day was getting to see Jasmine direct the one hour photo shoot. I LOVED watching Jasmine in action – no wonder her couples always look like they're having tons of fun!” – Susanne Ashby

“Jasmine's workshop was one of the most transformative experiences for my business (and me). To be truthful, it is so much more than branding, marketing and business development. It is about the way you live life, the values you build your business on, the choices you make and how you treat others. It's about how being mindful of those things will propel you and your business to levels far beyond anything you could imagine! Her openness, honesty, and realness will knock your socks off!” – Stacy Gendreau

One of the best things at theWorkshop is the friendships that are made. In fact, so powerful are the friendships that I even had a new photography duo form after deciding to join their photography studios together. Randi and Brooke met at my workshop and hit it off so well, they're now growing by leaps and bounds!

Lastly, here's a video made from theWorkshop I hosted in Sydney, Australia a few years ago…it'll shed more light into what goes on behind the scenes when we spend all day together…
