This week on Ask Me Anything, a weekly Facebook livestream where members of my community can ask me questions, Marcie asked if I had any practical tips for booking new clients.
I love back-to-the-basics questions like this, because ya’ll know I *love* a back-to-the-basics answer!
There are three proven ways to book new clients that I have found the most effective, regardless of if you are a product- or service-based business. Let’s break it down!
1. Ask for referrals.
It is totally okay to ask your current clients to pass your name around to others that might be interested in your product or service. If you have trouble getting referrals from past clients, you can always find ways to sweeten the referral (I.e. a free gift, 10% discount, or free shipping). Friend, you don’t get what you don’t ask for!
2. Be intentional and join online conversations.
There are many Facebook groups in your niche that your ideal clients are hanging out. One of the best ways to book new clients is to find these communities and intentionally engage with those in the community by asking questions, giving helpful advice, and only messaging someone about your product or service if they show interest. Remember boo, we don’t want to be spammy!
3. Utilize Instagram Direct Message.
In the Social Curator Facebook group, I asked the community how they use Instagram DM to book new clients, and Shana dropped a truth bomb. She said that when she gets a new follower, she copies and pastes a message from her notes about what she does, personalizes the message based on their profile, and then includes a link to a freebie she thinks they would like.
I think this is freaking brilliant and I’m so happy to share it with you!
Friend, your ideal client is waiting to hear from you. I hope you take these 3 points and use them to book them today!
I’m rooting for you always.
