5 Simple Selfie Ideas for Business Owners

Do you wish you could take better selfies for social media? *I see you nodding your head, friend!*

Of course, it would be great if we all had a brand photographer following us around to document our every move to post on the ‘gram…but most of the time as hustling business owners, it’s just us available to create content!

If this is the case for you, too, then you’re probably already familiar with taking selfies for your business…

So today, I want to give you 5 simple selfie ideas to add to your picture-taking arsenal straight from a photographer herself!

  1. Laughing

Taking a photo while laughing is one of the most natural ways to connect with your audience on social media. When shooting a selfie with The Laughing pose, feel free to have a friend, partner, or team member help make you giggle. *JD is always the one pulling me out of my shell and making this pose less awkward to take!*

  1. Playing with Hair

For the Playing with Hair pose, simply lean against a desk or wall and lift one of your hands to lightly grab a portion of your hair. Take a few shots looking at the camera and smiling, as well as ones when you’re looking away from the camera to give yourself more options!

  1. Wearing Sunglasses

Quite possibly the easiest pose on the list, all you need for this one is a pair of sunglasses. Sit in a natural position, then simply look up and away from the camera for a more casual look while taking your selfie.

  1. Hand on Chin

This is probably one of my favorite poses because it prevents me from looking stiff and overly posed. To use the Hand on Chin pose, just make a fist and rest your chin lightly on top, leaning the front of your body slightly forward. *Try to keep your shoulders square, though, so you don’t look hunched!*

  1. Holding a Coffee Cup

Okay, I lied… THIS is the easiest pose! Not sure what to do with your hands? Pick up a coffee cup and say cheese! Since it’s a bit casual, I like to pair the Holding a Coffee Cup pose with a more relaxed caption, such as my weekend plans or an engaging conversation-starter with my audience.

There you have it, friend! Which selfie will you try today?
