As I mentioned previously, during my totally awesome trip to Nicaragua, DJ and Allie asked if I’d be able to photograph them on Little Eden Cay. Of course I was nervous. Far more nervous than should be legal. I’m not exaggerating when I say I had so much adrenaline pumping through my veins I could’ve lifted a burning bus off a little old lady. With my pinky finger.
More than anything, I was honored to photograph my friend and wedding photographer. People often ask me if DJ is as nice in person as he seems on the web. Unabashedly I say NO. No, he is not that nice. He’s nicer. Kinder. Sweeter. More genuine than they could ever guess. I’m so proud he was my wedding photographer…proud he pushed me to pursue my dreams…but I am more proud to call him a friend.

I hate admitting this, but I always wanted to get DJ in front of my camera. Of course, because I seem to misplace portions of my spine at times, I never developed the nerve to ask. Lo and behold–as life sometimes works–DJ sat and waited for Allie…it was then when I was able to take a picture of the man who single-handedly changed my life…

Just as the sky parted for rain, Allie and DJ ventured into the water for some fun…they were such troopers! 😉
