Doing What Needs to be Done

This past week I was struck with the realization that I've curated my business interactions in such a way that they may not reveal my wedding work exactly how things unfold. Last week a full video broadcast of The Knot Dream Wedding showed how I dealt with the good, the bad, and the stressful…I moved furniture, I fluffed dresses, I sweated in ways that looked I'd been baptized. And here's the kicker: this is what I do at every wedding.

As wedding photographers, we work insanely hard to get the shots we need and we will do whatever it takes to ensure our clients get the best version of their day.

If I've given the impression I simply show up at weddings and things unfolded perfectly and effortlessly, my apologies to the reader. However, I don't apologize to my brides. I make no excuses to document the best version of their day…they deserve nothing less and makes me better at what I do as an artist. And we are all capable of the same thing.

Here's a photo of me at our last wedding, carrying the Dog of Honor…yup, doing whatever it takes to make the bride happy, keep the timeline in tact, and make the day seemingly perfect.
