Florence + Relaxing

Apparently, in Tuscany, procuring an internet connection is akin to, say, developing a third leg. Or owning a pet unicorn. As in, it's unlikely. Fortunately, I found wifi at a cafe a couple days into our stay. And I'm naming my pet unicorn Horace. Being without internet has been…well…unique. I mean, it's great in that I'm completely disconnected and, yet, I'm COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. And that right there? That was me almost having a heart attack.

The time away has been nice to simply just be. Be off. Be there. Be here. Sleeping late, walking too far, eating too much. Being able to recharge was an unexpected but welcomed experience, but I'm also excited to shoot today. We're flying by the seat of our pants and shooting alongside Anton Lorimer, so I'm excited for what's in store.

I've been carrying my camera, but it's mostly for personal keepsakes and candids. Our last day in Florence was awesome in that we did absolutely nothing. We sat in piazzas, stared far too long at people, voiced our dreams. Yes, like we spoke our inner worlds into reality and hoped each other would listen, without judgment or care. Simply listen. It's been one of my favorite memories thus far. That, and naming Horace.

We found a random pub right by the Duomo with a gorgeous view of the city, so we spent quite a bit of time just relaxing…

…and we did some shopping…

…randomly, you'll find tiny grocers amongst streets and alleys…

I've haven't had the guts to hand my camera to a stranger for a picture of the two of us, so we've been relegated to shooting ourselves in random mirrors around the city just so we have proof we were here…together….

Happy Tuesday!
