The Future of Instagram

Recently, Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, announced that Instagram is “no longer a photo sharing app.”

That sent some people into a frenzy… but not me. Wanna know why?

Because it is everything we already saw coming.

Instagram made an announcement that they are going to be really heavily indexing on video, but that’s exactly what is already happening.

>>Analytics and statistics show that more people are watching video on social media platforms.<<

And if you’re already putting out video, you know that’s the case.

*And truthfully, that makes sense.*

Driving engagement from a single photo is much more difficult to do compared to a video that creates an emotional response by being educational, entertaining, or empowering.

If you haven’t currently been producing video, there’s no need to fear. Nothing changes overnight.

>>Now is your opportunity to continue to create and iterate.<<

The only way to know what the right ratio of video to photo is for your audience is by creating video and putting it out there to see how they respond.

What your audience wants to see more of will set the cadence for what you do in the future.
