I knew I was never the smart one.
Can you relate? Have you ever felt like you’re always one step behind? Or perhaps you look around and see others achieving the success you’re dreaming of and tell yourself, “They were the first, the best, the smartest… I don’t have a chance.”
Allow me to encourage you to keep going and give you a tangible action that worked (and still works!) for me.
In order to get to where I wanted to go, I had to play a different game. And that game was just… What is one small thing I can do right now?
Let me tell you, friend, that game was the greatest gift that could have happened. To some, it may have looked like a disadvantage, but to me… it was the pathway to success.
>>The greatest gift was always being the kid who was painfully aware that I couldn’t “do it all.”<<
I learned quickly that even when I might not be able to do it all, there is always one small thing I could do to get closer to what I was chasing after.
As I’ve built a business, that’s the only thing I’ve ever known. I can’t build the business that I want or that I dream of outright, but I know that I can do something small each day to get me where I want to go.
It’s this mindset that has kept me hell-bent on telling people, “It’s the small stuff.”
So what does the small stuff look like?
Depending on your business and goals it could look like:
- Taking 15-minutes to send an email
- Sending a voice memo to a potential client or collaborator
- Writing a small “thank you” note.
- Updating or writing your social media Bio.
I am not here today because I did “big things.” I have the honor and privilege of living my dream and serving you because I mastered doing the small stuff, and you can too!
If you master the small stuff, I promise you, it’s the small stuff that will get you to the BIG stuff you truly want in your life and in your business.
- You may not be the first.
- You may not be the best.
- You may not be the smartest.
Guess what? None of that matters.
Release the grip those self-sabotaging thoughts have on your heart because…
>>The sooner you realize your goals do not require you to be the first, best, or smartest, the sooner your wildest dreams will come true.<<
The work is not glamorous. When it looks that way, I promise, you’re not seeing the whole story. You’re not seeing the struggles and setbacks before success was achieved.
Your results won’t sparkle because of the glitz and glamor of the process—no—They’ll shine because of the blood, sweat, and tears you pour into doing the damn work, one. small. step. at a time… consistently.
