3 Ways to Make Great Business Decisions

Did you know that you can think up to 70,000 thoughts a day, and ninety percent of them are the exact same thoughts that you thought yesterday?

I recently listened to a conversation on a podcast with Joe Dispenza. He shared how in order for us to make better decisions in the future, we actually have to stop the thoughts we’re currently thinking in the moment.

He was talking about tapping into your inner self, but I couldn’t help but wonder how I could contextualize this conversation in the form of business… YOUR business.

Want to know what I did?

I started an experiment.

Every time I thought a thought that did not push me forward, I did three things…

  1. I stopped the thought.

Before I tell you how see if you can relate to some of the thoughts I was having:

  • “Is this going to work?”
  • “Am I doing enough?”
  • “Could I be doing something better?”

Here’s how I stopped those thoughts in their tracks:

>>I quickly envisioned a red stop sign and legit stopped the thought so that I wouldn’t repeat the same thoughts the next day.<<

The next thing I did was more powerful than I expected.

  1. I changed the thought.

Instead of saying, “I’m not doing enough,”

I started telling myself, “I am doing what I can with what I have.”

I stopped the thought. I changed the thought. Now it was time to…

  1. I controlled the thought.

Throughout the rest of my day, each time I had a thought that did not push me forward, I controlled it by immediately stopping and changing the thought.

Every time I had a thought that did not serve me or my goals for the following day, I immediately said, “Nope. I’m changing it.”

What does this mean for YOUR business?

>>In order for you to get where you want to go and start thinking better, more productive thoughts, we must separate our feelings and thoughts from our actions.<<

Stop allowing your actions to be dependent on your destructive thought patterns.

Think of it this way: If your actions depend on how you feel and what you think, you’re not going to get anything done.

Can I get vulnerable for a minute? There are a lot of days that I, honestly, feel really bummed, and I don’t want to work. I feel bummed.

But how I feel should not dictate the actions that I take. You feel me?

Even if it feels like you’re:

  • Not seeing the results that you want yet fast enough
  • Uncertain about the decisions you’re making
  • Running backward instead of making progress in your business…

It’s your responsibility to show up and do the work.

Refuse to stop. Refuse to quit. Refuse to surrender. How?

  1. Stop the thought.
  2. Change the thought.
  3. Control the thought.

Because…

>>If you’re going to think ninety percent of the same thoughts tomorrow, you better start changing and controlling your thoughts TODAY.<<

The negative narrative that keeps so many business owners stuck in their own way won’t disappear overnight. But they WILL lessen over time each time you take your power back and control them.
