Last week, I went on a walk with my sister. (This is a weekly routine where we begin our walk at 5:00 in the morning, and we walk about 10,000 steps.)
We watch the sunrise, and we talk about everything under the sun.
Surprisingly, my sister mentioned that when she listens to my podcast, she said I sound too harsh, too direct.
Bianca went as far as said, “You just sound like everything is easy, like you don't acknowledge how hard it really is.”
Whoa.
I'm writing this note to let you know I'm a work in progress, and so is my business.
If I have ever come across like I have it together, that nothing goes wrong, that I think my ideas are brilliant, or I've never made a mistake, I ask for your forgiveness for that misrepresentation.
The truth and the reality is that I've made more mistakes than anybody else I know.
Building this business has been the hardest thing I have ever done.
If I have ever given the impression that running a business is feeling like my toes are in the sand, frolicking on private jets while doing shots of caviar, I beg your pardon.
Despite how I might come across on my podcast, the words I share with you are purely out of humility and love.
I love that you're here, and I love that you want to build a business, and I love that you want to make more money than most people think is possible.
It's out of THAT love that I will respectfully tell you that my voice carries the truth and reality: building a business will be the hardest thing you will ever do, and it will also be the most rewarding thing you will ever do.

I also want to remind you that if other people:
- Don't understand the decisions that you're making
- Don’t see the future that you see
- Don’t understand the sacrifices you’re making…
…KEEP GOING.
If people doubt or question your ability to build a business, please know that you would not have been given the vision if you did not have the capacity to bring it to life.
You are not given these ideas and desires by happenstance.
You're given them as a responsibility to bring them to life, but with that responsibility comes the deep commitment to be unrelenting on days that are dark, cold, and lonely.
Please remember: I don’t have it together, nor am I a Know-It-All.
I’m just a girl speaking her truth, asking you to avoid my mistakes, count the cost of building your dream, and be relentless in your pursuit.
10,000 Steps at a Time,
j*
