Dear Jasmine, 

You’re going to think I’m crazy, but I came back to tell you that there is just one thing you need to do.

Yes, just one.

See, I know you’re hustling. It’s 2012 and you’ve never worked so hard in your life.

I see the long days and the endless nights, in fact, I remember them well.

• I remember the big dreams and the doubt that followed.
• I remember the fear of failure.
• I remember the worry of not knowing what came next.

Those feelings are real. They are valid. And they aren’t serving you.

The good news is, there’s one thing that will change your life if only you have the courage and the chutzpah to do it.

Be responsible, yes. Pay your bills, absolutely. But anything you have left over? Take every last penny and invest in getting guidance from a mentor, a mastermind, or simply invest in someone who will answer your questions.

Here’s the cold hard truth: You’re going to waste the next six years not having the permission, the courage, or the ability to have someone speak into your greatest fears, worries, and confusions.

That’s six years I can never get back, but there’s still time for you to do what I couldn’t.

Why? Because time is the most valuable thing you own.

• It is not how many followers you have.
• It is not how much money is in your bank account.
• It is not your zip code or the car you drive.
• It is not your 4-week or 6-week vacation to the Bahamas.

No, you have something far more valuable… You have time.

*And oh hunnayyyy, you cannot let that go to waste!*

What you have is something that everyone wants regardless of age, education, credence, or culture.

The only question that remains is what you’re going to do with that precious time of yours.

If there’s one thing I could do differently, I would bet on us. 

You are going to learn from other people who know more, have done more, and have gone before you.

• Their experiences will teach you how to move faster.
• Their experiences are going to save you from pain.
• Their experiences will save you time, and time is money.

So what you’re going to do, my favorite brown girl with freckles on fleek, is to take every last penny and bet on YOU.

It will come back to you.

It will accelerate your growth.

It will put you where you’ve always longed to be.

You are worth it.
