Marion Davies Wedding : Malibu Nautical Inspiration

One of my favorite things about being creative is the ability to think of an idea…and then make it come to life. I'm lucky to be surrounded by amazing people who enjoy the same thing, so when my friends Lindye and Harmony brainstormed wedding inspiration at Marion Davies House in Malibu, I was more than happy to join the fun.

The shoot was inspired by a nod to the 1920's. The venue is a beach house, so there are hints of nautical appeal that play to the home's coastal charm. The wedding ceremony was set in a quaint room and the ocean breeze made for a delightful day…

The best news is this shoot was featured on BridesMagazine.com and it's exciting to see a wedding vision take flight.

When I asked Lindye about the ceremony decor inspiration, she replied, The alter featured a backdrop of three framed panels that detailed a scallop pattern created from thousands of gold sequins and backed by lace, all inspired by the era's flapper fashion.

I can't even begin to say how much I lovelovelove the bride's hair…Melina did an amazing job!

The mix of succulents, dahlias, and golden roses is enough to make a girl swoon…

Amy of Vanilla Bake Shop outdid herself with the cake…I mean, just look at the attention to detail…

I love all things miniature, so one might imagine my delight photographing Good Gracious' delicious appetizers…

Hints of gold…makes me wish my holiday table decor looked half as pretty as this…

The name cards doubled as the menu, with many thanks to Laura Hooper's creative talent…

I'll end this post with sweets and sweetness…

Many thanks to the amazing team who made this wedding come to life…
