New Way To Build Your Business

I’m testing a new thing in my business: I’m teaching a live class every Tuesday.

Crazy, right?! 🤪

I want to share the 3 Best/Worst things about this new form of weekly business building.

3 BEST THINGS

  1. The LIVE connection – I’m teaching in real time to business owners and the connection is palpable. I can literally feel their desire, fear, hunger to learn how to build a successful online version of their business.
  2. Improving my Presentation Skills – I recently spoke at Shelby Sapp’s Women and Wealth Conference and I noticed a distinct difference in HOW I spoke. It was calmer, confident, and in flow. When I reflected on why, I immediately understood the power of weekly reps my live class provided, which improved my in-person delivery.
  3. Q&A = R&D – During my live class, I open Q+A at the end. The premise of the class is outlining my 4-part method to creating a successful digital offer and online business based on your expertise and experience. By the time Q+A rolls around, the business owners in the class present incredibly insightful questions and answering them helps me craft my offer even MORE carefully each week. It’s like a healthy dose of Research & Development, which I’ve loved.

3 WORST THINGS

  1. The Anxiety Spike – This is hard to admit, but I start feeling anxious the day before the live class. My stomach aches, and I nervously start pumping my right leg when I’m seated. I want to teach so well for people who attend, that I begin spinning around how I can get better, what could go wrong, and how I can serve them. And that leads me to…
  2. Tech is Unpredictable – While on a recent trip to Atlanta for a conference, I was slated to teach the live class from my hotel room. The wifi didn’t work. I switched the wifi, no luck. I tried tethering to my phone, that didn’t work. I ran to the conference center to use that wifi, and guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK EITHER. What I learned from this lesson? I need to buy Starlink and take it on every business trip.
  3. The After Effects – I can be pretty hard on myself after each live class. I analyze what I could have done better, or how I could’ve presented better. I also feel deeply responsible, but I remind myself to stay grateful. It’s a gift to be able to empower entrepreneurs to create a successful online offer that changes their lives. (Yes, I know that sounds dramatic, but I deeply believe).

This year has been a way for me to test new things as I grow my business and—like always—I want to share the lessons from my journey with you.
