Newport Beach Engagement : Melissa+John

His parents asked him if he knew Melissa, but he rolled his eyes when their backs turned. Of course he knew Melissa, they went to dental school together…and she was one of the prettiest girls there. Of course John knew her, but he wasn't about to take dating cues from his parents.

A while later, he asks Melissa on a date, but this where the details get fuzzy:
He says he asked her on a date.
She says they met for dinner, not a formal date.
He says he asked her on a second date.
She doesn't remember the invitation…or the second date they apparently went on.

Years later, after they graduated from dental school, Melissa's Facebook status announced she was moving to Boston to pursue dentistry on the east coast. Realizing this was the last time to see her before she departed, John asked her out on a date (Melissa thought it was just dinner, not a date…again). This time, however, the details were clear: they were perfect for each other. They spent a couple years in a long-distance relationship which later turned into a marriage proposal. They're planning a perfect wedding later this year at the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, a day when John's parents can proudly say they were right all along.

We spent the afternoon in Newport Beach and the day couldn't have been any prettier…the light was darn near perfect…

Melissa jokes her and John have used every form of communication over the course of their relationship, so she brought proof of their communication efforts! 😉

After a quick outfit change, we crept by the Newport Beach harbor while they enjoyed sunset…and planned where they're going for their honeymoon…

The only problem with their planning efforts is that John is too busy making Melissa laugh…

…case in point…

Melissa, you're stunning. Really.

Melissa and John requested Newport Beach harbor because it reminded Melissa of her days in Boston…a city where she fell in love with the man of her dreams…

Happy Wednesday!
