How a Mastermind Changed the Trajectory of My Business (And How It Can Do the Same for You): Part 2

In the last episode, I shared the story of my decision to join a mastermind and how I almost had a panic attack when I saw the price ($25k), but decided that if I could learn one new way to grow my business and make back that $25k, it would be worth it.

So let’s pick up this story. I went into my first mastermind with the goal of making $25k.

Within six months of joining the mastermind, I created an entirely new project, launched it, and made $255k.

If you’ve listened to the podcast for a while, you know that I’m a first generation Latina daughter of an immigrant who was raised on government assistance and help from families at our church.

Making $100k in a year wasn’t ever something I considered. Like, the thought that it was possible never crossed my mind.

And then I made $255k in a week.

And I realized: this is what happens when you surround yourself with people who show you what is possible. It was the culmination of being around 20 other brilliant people in that mastermind that empowered me to make that $255k. They taught me what I didn’t even know I didn’t know.

In 2017, I was in two different high ticket masterminds at the same time – I was that hooked on them.

But let me be honest: I experienced a ton of uncertainty during this time. I was learning new things every day and I felt overwhelmed –  the more I learned, the more I needed to do. Every decision was a new decision. Every risk was a new risk.

I was growing fast, but it was heavy, hard, and awkward.

But I kept going. I learned to think of failures as “lessons”… and I learned a LOT of lessons. Click >>PLAY<< to hear more about them… including the story of the actual award I got for falling down so many times but getting up again and again.

When I look back at my biggest growth spurts in my career, they were on the back of being in masterminds. And I talk so much about my experience with masterminds that people often ask if I have plans to host a mastermind of my own.

For a long time, the answer to that question was no. I needed to add more tools to my arsenal. I needed to grow. I needed to prove to myself that I could guide in a way that honored the journey.

And when I say honored? That means – could curate a group of brilliant people who could work together to build each other's businesses? You see, a mastermind is never about the host – it’s not coaching. Instead, it’s about trusting that the host can gather the right people in the room to create magic.

And in 2023, I’ve realized that I’m ready – I’m ready to host a mastermind, to create an alchemy of actions, results, and accountability and empower your growth in six months.
