From Zero Views to Lasting Influence: My YouTube & Podcast Strategy

If you're wondering whether YouTube and podcasting are still worth the effort in a world obsessed with TikTok, Reels, and short-form content… this episode is for you.

Recently, I was invited to speak at a mastermind hosted by Ashley Brock, and I was asked to pull back the curtain on something I've spent more than a decade building: my personal brand.

Instead of giving a polished keynote and moving on, I wanted to do something different.

I wanted to show exactly what it takes to build a long-form content ecosystem that creates trust, authority, and opportunities over time.

And let me be honest…

The answer isn't sexy.

It isn't fast.

And it definitely isn't viral.

But it works.

In this special episode, I'm sharing the keynote presentation and live Q&A where I break down how I think about YouTube, podcasting, personal branding, content strategy, audience growth, and building a business that can stand the test of time.

One of the biggest themes I discuss is belief.

For years, people would ask me where I saw myself in ten years, and I never had an answer. Not because I lacked ambition, but because ten years felt impossible to believe. I could dream about the future, but believing in it was another story entirely.

As the daughter of immigrants who watched her parents struggle financially, my worldview was built around limitations and ceilings—not opportunities and expansion. It took years for me to realize that the dreams I wanted weren't reserved for someone else.

They were available to me too.

That's why I stopped focusing on ten-year goals and started focusing on what I could believe.

Five years.

Then one year.

Then one quarter.

Then one project.

That simple framework ultimately led me to launch my podcast in 2020—not because it would generate immediate revenue, but because it aligned with a larger vision I had for the future.

Throughout this conversation, I break down:

  • Why long-form content creates deeper trust than almost any other platform.
  • How YouTube and podcasting support a larger personal brand strategy.
  • The role patience plays in sustainable growth.
  • Why most people quit before their content has a chance to work.
  • How to identify your brand pillars.
  • The importance of consistency over perfection.
  • How conversations become conversions.
  • Why storytelling remains one of the most powerful tools for business growth.

You'll also hear an extended Q&A where attendees ask thoughtful questions about content strategy, podcast monetization, audience building, positioning, niche selection, and turning expertise into influence.

One of my favorite moments is when we discuss the difference between teaching and selling.

Too many creators either over-teach or under-serve. The sweet spot is teaching through stories—using client wins and real-world examples to demonstrate your framework instead of simply telling people how great you are.

And perhaps the most important reminder of the entire episode?

You don't have to be the smartest person.

You don't have to have the biggest audience.

You don't have to be the most talented creator in your industry.

You simply have to keep showing up.

Because you can't lose if you don't quit.

The people who win are often the people who stay in the game long enough for their efforts to compound. That's true for YouTube. That's true for podcasting. And it's true for building a personal brand.

If you've been thinking about launching a podcast, starting a YouTube channel, creating more long-form content, or building a stronger personal brand, I hope this conversation gives you both the strategy and encouragement to keep going.

Your future audience is waiting.

Now it's time to show up.
