The $500K Skill Every Woman Should Learn

There are certain conversations that leave you feeling challenged, inspired, and completely rethinking what's possible.

This is one of them.

In today's episode, I'm sitting down with entrepreneur, author, speaker, and business leader Natalie Dawson, co-founder and president of Cardone Ventures. Since Natalie's first appearance on the podcast, I've had the privilege of watching her continue to scale her business, expand her influence, and become an even stronger voice for women in entrepreneurship. Today, we're diving into topics that don't get discussed nearly enough: money, confidence, ownership, wealth-building, and what it really takes to create extraordinary success.

We begin with a conversation around something Natalie recently shared online: women today have more earning power than ever before, yet many don't have trusted mentors, advisors, or peers they can openly discuss money with. They're making more than their spouses, their parents, and even the people who traditionally guided them—and as a result, they're navigating financial decisions alone.

Natalie believes that's a problem.

Because while there's no shortage of financial advice online, there's often a shortage of honest, practical conversations from women who are actively building wealth and sharing what they've learned along the way.

One of the most powerful moments in this conversation comes when Natalie makes a bold claim:

If you don't currently have a skill capable of generating $500,000 per year, your next goal should be developing one.

At first, that number might feel intimidating.

But Natalie breaks down exactly why she believes it's achievable.

According to her, most people don't have an income problem—they have a skill problem.

Throughout our discussion, Natalie explains why marketing isn't about algorithms or fancy strategies. It's about learning how to communicate value. It's about understanding a product, believing in it deeply, and becoming confident enough to share that belief with others.

We also explore why creativity often matters more than capital.

Many aspiring entrepreneurs believe they need funding before they can start. Natalie disagrees. She argues that creativity is often the most valuable asset someone can possess because it allows them to identify opportunities, test ideas quickly, and build momentum before investing significant resources.

One of my favorite takeaways from this episode is Natalie's “47-minute rule.”

She challenges listeners to dedicate just 47 focused minutes every day toward developing a skill, creating content, testing an offer, or learning how to market a product. Instead of waiting for perfect circumstances, she advocates for consistent action—and believes someone could fundamentally change their earning potential within 18 months by following this approach.

But this conversation goes far beyond business tactics.

Natalie shares a deeply personal story about a costly business relationship that taught her one of the most important lessons of her career: nobody will ever have your best interests in mind more than you do. Rather than viewing herself as a victim of the situation, she chose to ask a different question:

What did I do to create this situation, and what do I need to learn so it never happens again?

That mindset of radical ownership becomes a recurring theme throughout our conversation.

Natalie also opens up about working with family, building a business alongside her husband, and why the myth of the “self-made entrepreneur” is often just that—a myth. Success is rarely created alone, and she shares how learning to embrace support became one of the greatest shifts in her personal and professional life.

As we wrap up, Natalie reflects on her experience appearing on one of the world's largest podcasts and the unexpected lesson that came from it: external validation can never become the foundation of your confidence.

Because whether someone notices you or not…

Whether your content goes viral or not…

Whether someone agrees with you or not…

Your value remains unchanged.

And that's a lesson every entrepreneur needs to hear.

This episode is a masterclass in ownership, confidence, skill development, and building a life that aligns with your fullest potential.
