Photographing a bride and groom in open shade on a bright, sunny day is usually the best option for portraits. But often times, shaded areas can be limited by space constraints. I've discovered a few ways to maximize a small shaded area by shooting from myriad angles, all while giving my subjects distinct directions. My photos are enhanced when I'm able to use natural reflectors (which I discuss in this video) and this shaded location is typically where I'll document a traditional portrait of the bride and groom since the light is favorable and complimentary.
