Watch me practice what I preach.
When I was thrust into being the CEO of a SAAS company,
- I didn’t know programming
- I didn’t know how to code
- I didn’t know development
- I had never had a team of 25 people before
>>I am the most unqualified person to do the very thing that I want to do, and yet I will step into a place to be the person today that I aspire to be tomorrow.<<
I got into the game because I’m the daughter of an immigrant. My family grew up wildly poor. My parents lost not one, but two houses. We rode busses. We were the recipients of church donations.
My parents did the best they could with what they had.
After receiving a full-ride scholarship to go to law school, I was able to see what the world is like outside of my experience. I saw how BIG it is.
I thought to myself, “What’s possible for me? What can I do?”
>>I quickly realized that I was never going to get to where I wanted to go if I continued to live a small life.<<
From that moment, I decided to take a risk… on the back of nothing… with a tiny Best Buy camera.
I thought, “If I find a way to connect with people online and serve them really well, I think I can make a go of it.”
All of a sudden my world changed.
I started realizing that people were investing in what I was offering, because I was kind of good at being social, even though:
- I was always an introvert.
- I was never the smartest.
- I was never picked first.
But, I was able to see the people that were unseen and served them. The people I served became my biggest evangelists. This led to me moving forward–from a $30,000 a year job–to the first year in my first career bringing in $100,000.
Every year since that first one has become an iteration of the thing that I know I am supposed to do… Standing in my purpose.
>>Money was never the goal. Money became the tool.<<
Money was the tool that moved me from one place in the world to another. Now I’m able to wake up, not focused on the money, but on what the tool can do for my life, my family, and my legacy.
All this to say… I’m inviting you to take a risk on yourself.
- Bet on your business.
- Bet on your wildest dream.
- Bet on yourself.
>>You were put on this world to do something wild with your one life.<<
Does that scare you? Good. You can’t be brave or courageous if you aren’t afraid. And you, my friend, have the heart of a lion and the resilience of one, too.
Think about it. If you take a risk on yourself, what’s the worst that could happen?
- It doesn’t work, and
- You end up exactly where you are right now?
That’s okay.
- You start a business and then you realize,
- You have to go back and begin again?
That’s okay.
>>It’s never too late to get back up, and begin again.<<
Use the lessons you’ve learned as the tool to get you where you want to go.
Whatever you do, ensure that you stand in your purpose, find fulfillment, and discover the reason you have been put on this earth.
