The Secret No One Shares About Scaling

It was unexpected, happenstance, divine timing đź’« We all happened to be in Nashville on the same day.

Amy Porterfield calls it home. Bonnie Christine was in town to meet with her mentor. Jenna Kutcher and Stacy Tuschl were in town to speak at an event. And I was in Nashville for a meeting…

…and next thing we knew, we piled in Amy’s house for the day to brainstorm, mastermind, and vision-cast.

We applied pressure, asked questions, and talked about new pathways for growth.

Sometimes you find yourself in the right place, at the right time….in these moments, revel in the journey.

But here’s the crazy thing: So much of what we spoke about was foundational.

Like, nuts&bolts, square-one, beginner mode.

It was all about getting back to BASICS:

  • It was clearly identifying our ideal client.
  • It was setting up (boring) metrics to track each day for lead optimization.
  • It was dissecting sales scripts.
  • It was distilling an irrefutable transformation.

Like I said, the BASICS.

Last month I was in Austin, Texas to speak as a Mentor for INC Magazine and The UPS Store Small Biz Challenge, where I stressed the importance of the BASICS while speaking on stage to business owners.

Last month I hosted my 7-Figure Mastermind and I explained the importance of systematic and intentional operations, focusing on the BASICS.

And yet—just a couple weeks later—I found myself in a room with my peers scaling massive businesses… grueling over—yes, you know it—the BASICS.

I’m sending this note as a reminder to revisit the building blocks of our businesses. We’ve iterated, grown, and changed as we’ve scaled, so we must ensure that the base of our foundation is set up to handle the height of the skyscraper we’re building.
