Want to know a crazy stat? My most popular podcasts are episodes where I share my quarterly review.
Yes, the TEA. I spill it. All.
I document (in specific detail) what events, decisions, conversations I had in the previous three months to set my business for success.
(Even if it doesn’t quite make sense at the time.)
You see, friend, I want to document the journey, not just show the destination.
It’s not easy to share the good, bad, and ugly, but I want to normalize building a business, in public.
Here’s why: People can see (no, literally, see…I post podcast videos on YouTube), the individual bricks I’m laying to the foundation of my business goals.
Earlier this year (on this Q1 2026 episode), I documented THREE opportunities for me to deepen a relationship with entrepreneur, Ashley Brock.

- She was a guest on my podcast about creating a marketing ads strategy.
- She spoke at my 7-Figure Mastermind.
- I spoke at her Ads Mastery event in Palm Springs, California.

Every time we connected, I learned more about her program her.
Not only was she brilliant, she was kind and generous with her time and knowledge.
Shortly thereafter, I decided to join her Paid Ads Academy program, Hall of Fame, and became a client.
I decided to move away from using an ads agency and bring my ads in-house.
This was a HUGE decision for my team, but we’re committed to taking control of our strategy and leveraging ads in new ways.
Last week I flew to Atlanta to attend (as a client) her Launch Your Ads Live event.

On the outside it looked like this:

On the inside (of my hotel room) it looked like this:

Have you ever been somewhere you know is helpful, inspiring, and exciting WHILE ALSO TERRIFYING YOU?
Yeah, that was basically my entire trip to HOTlanta (I was dripping sweat from pure adrenaline…seriously…more on that coming soon in Q3 2026 podcast!).
Here’s a few things I learned and key takeaways:
- I designed an ad entirely using A.I. in a matter of minutes.
- We studied and dissected ads and understood why they worked (and didn’t).
- We dug into each other’s ads dashboards (geeky, but I loved it!).
- We studied ChatGPT’s new ads platform and learned how to set up ads.
- We dissected landing pages and optimization tips.
And I leave you with this quote: “If you’re unwilling to invest in yourself, you’ll be unwilling to charge for your services.”
I’ll be sharing more about our new strategies and lessons learned in a future podcast episode, but I wanted to document the journey.
Both the excitement…and fear.
As you build your business, I wish you continued excitement and fear.
To documenting them both,
j*
