Way Up North : Speaking + Review

Last month I had the distinct honor of speaking as part of the Way Up North Conference in Stockholm, Sweden. Five hundred European photographers participated in this awesome event and it was the first of it's kind in Northern Europe. For two days, we crammed into this gorgeous theater and fell more in love with photography.

My presentation focused on creating balance between DOING THE WORK YOU LOVE and MAKING TIME FOR THOSE YOU LOVE. I'll admit that it was hard talking about ways I failed my friends and family on account of my business, but I outlined the changes I made to ensure my priorities are kept in line. Before I took the stage, the ever-fabulous Cole and Jakob (the organizers of Way Up North), surprised me with this video (created by Mariscalariza).

So cool, right? Go+Do…but be sure to make time for the people who need, love, and support you.

If you're interested in attending future events, WUN just launched a 2016 date in Rome, Italy….with a new line of amazing speakers. If you're in Europe (or looking for an excuse to get there), check it out!

Here are a few photos from the event taken by Hampus Öberg Photography. Nope. This stage wasn't intimidating at all. {Insert sarcasm here}

It was freezing in Stockholm, but tucked in the warmth of the theater, we fell in love with the art of photography…

This is me. Speaking in Sweden. What a dream come true.

Why, hello there, sweet peers…
