Anytime Favorites : 2008

Okay. So I know I’ve said this a thousand times before, but I’ll say it juuuuuust one more time before the year’s over. I love shooting Anytime sessions more than I like Edamame. And boysenberry jelly. And velcro. And Blender magazine. Combined. And in skewed land of Jasmineville that’s a whole lot.

I don’t think people ever need a reason to be photographed. Just taking the time to value your life and those ever precious Just Because moments are priceless and when I’m given the opportunity to capture people living life, I adore it. This past year I was blessed to photograph some truly amazing people. Some were entrepreneurs, some athletes, some singers, some people just wanting to feel ultra fab. I loved every moment of these sessions and I have quite a few lined up for 2009 and I’m stoked…capturing fabulous lives Anytime is what I love to do.

Here are a few favs from 2008…
Kimberly Curtis : Santa Barbara

Amy and David : Los Angeles

Kimberlee West : Costa Mesa

Amy and Jim : Little Eden, Nicaragua

Andrea : Mission Viejo

Brett : Santa Barbara

Brianna : Irvine

Candice and Daniel : Santa Ana

Carrie : Newport Beach

Christina : Costa Mesa

Diandra : Long Beach

Jamie and Jared : San Clemente

Melanie : Irvine

Lyra : Irvine

Paige and Deyl : Little Eden, Nicaragua

    Hi Jasmine,

I’ve thought of commenting for a while but figured it would just get lost with all the "fannery":P

I just want you to know how much I look forward to your posts. I stumbled upon your site through DPS and absolutely LOVE your style. After becoming a cyber-groupie, I discovered I also love your personal additions as well. So many times I’m laughing out loud with your cleverness and great sense of humor. Sometimes, I have to laugh so hard since "I’ve so been there!" My sweet hubby is a JD personality relative and I just bust up with some of your stories. I even forwarded him your post about the Christmas decorations. He loved it. (I go a bit insane myself – mostly from the 50% off sales. I never got the clue that thousands of people had passed this stuff up – and yet I had to bring it home?) Some friends of ours once describe our relationship as, "Marti takes care of Rob socially, and Rob, well, he just takes care of Marti." I’m always finding the trouble and drama and he’s my mister calm and rational. It’s so perfect. I’m guessing you know exactly what I mean.
I also want to comment that your mother and family continue to be in our prayers and I really respect your open-ness about your faith. Ever wonder how many "seeds" you are planting through your posts? I can’t help but think you are doing great missionary work through your blog.
So, there it is. I finally wrote in. Maybe some day Rob and I will get some "Anytime" pictures made. But, for now, I’m too busy being a Mommy who’s trying to figure out how to be BEHIND the camera….. (I was very bummed about the timing of your Austin tour – I had just had a c-section with my son and it simply wasn’t an option for me. I’d love to have met you in person.)

Thanks again, God Please Bless you and your family, and I hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and wonderful 2009.
    – Marti Smith,
    cyber stalker 😉

Hi Jasmine, I decided to de-lurkify (is that even a word?) myself to tell you how amazing your pictures. You definitely know how to capture emotion.
Any tips to newbies like myself on how you get your clients to relax and have tons of fun?
