Happy Birthday Jeannie!

Tomorrow is Jeannie’s BIRTHDAY!

Last Monday, the fabulous girls of Details, Details Wedding Coordination planned a surprise celebration for Jeannie Savage, owner and creative genius. A group of people gathered at Tommy Bahama’s in Newport Beach to show our appreciation for the indelible impression she leaves on our lives.

I was asked to bring my camera to the dinner to document the surprise and I was more than happy to oblige! I truly appreciated being there and value my friendships with such amazing wedding professionals!

Jeannie, I hope you have a FABULOUS day! Enjoy your birthday and cherish the time with your family! I hope you laugh, love, and eat an extra slice of red velvet cake for me! 😉

Speaking of cake, how AWESOME is this cake?!? Grace of Sweet Gems created this masterpiece, making a perfect Jeannie look-alike! 🙂 If any of my brides want a gorgeous cake (and very delicious to boot!), give Grace a call!

Aimee of Wedding Life, Julie Hill, Grace of Sweet Gems, and Alex Hill of Elysium Productions

Me, Brooke of Details, Details, Jaime Snyder of Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, and Michelle of Details, Details

Didn’t Grace do a great job with the replica?! 😉

Great shots Jasmine. Can I ask you a question? I hope you don’t mind… When you shoot with your 50 1.2 (or in my case, I have the 50 1.4), what is your guideline for depth of field? Meaning, when you shoot a group of people (in one shot, you had 4), do you change your f/stop to something narrower like 4.0 or 5.0? Your subjects are very clear (even when standing in a curved line). Any insight into DOF would be awesome if you have the time. You’re very talented.

@Bartek: Yes, I change aperture when there are more people in the frame. For these particular photos, I was shooting between a 3.2-4.0. I hope this helps! 🙂

Why are the photos of the flowers in your bathroom, the same as the collage from the party?!?!?!? Did you take a ‘memento’ home with you, Jasmine!?! Love your work, your photos are amazing!

I know that this is totally off the subject, but thank you so much for your FAQ posts! I’ve been going back through them all to learn and soak in as much info as possible! So, you have helped at least one person! I hope it was worth your time!!! (I know you’ve helped WAY more than that, though!)
