It’s About Doing

Whenever you feel uncreative…or stuck…the thing you want to do most is stop. It’s not coming so, hey, I’ll pick up the remote…or this pantry really does need organizing…or HOW LONG HAVE THESE DORITOS BEEN HIDING HERE?! Next thing you know, hours/days/weeks later you’re no where closer to where you wanted to be.

When you feel uninspired, you need to DO, not think about doing.

It’s about picking up you camera and shooting. Getting on the bike and riding. Starting the non-profit. Studying for the CPA certification.
It’s about doing.

This is a slightly different Random Friday post, but after seeing this tour de creative force, I couldn’t help but smile.

This is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned, and I actually learned it from you back when you mentioned The War of Art! (So thank you.) It’s also summed up by Picasso- "When inspiration finds me, she will find me at work". πŸ™‚

Glad to know I am not alone. I’ve been stuck in a rut, but finally pulled it together and "doing" has led to more things getting done. Funny how that works. <3

Great advice on DOing. Pretty funny test paper! When I was in the Air Force typing up physical exam reports, it asked for mother’s and father’s "state of health." Someone had filled in "Kansas." And for "Sex" he put "yes."

    50/50 for content.
    30/30 for organization.
    20/20 for mechanics.
100%, A+. Keep up the great writing, Jasmine!

J- This is so so helpful! Lots of times I feel, well, STUCK! It’s so true that if I just start to do even if I don’t have a direction it gets me somewhere and many times it’s where I NEED to be:)

Thank you for this lovely little post and reminder. I always say "fake it until you make it" which is essentially the same thing… doing.

I loved reading those test answers!
Actually I watched a video of Alex Beadon’s when she talked about the lessons to be learned from the Kardashians (I was surprise at at title at first) but then watched through it and had "never settle on your laurels" hit a note in my mind.. and I think that’s something we can admire from you too, the way you’re always coming up with fresh thingsl to teach/shoot/and do πŸ™‚ . ROCK ON J*

How do you do it? Every time I have some ‘issue’ in regards to self doubt, creativity, a rut or whatever you have a very apropos post that helps me. Between this post and the one before you completely nailed what is going on in my head. Jasmine, do you have telepathy? Thank you for everything you do.
