ReDefine Show

I’m up and at ’em early this morning and headed to New York City…or, as my Puerto Rican grandma referred as Nueva Jork. I’m speaking this Wednesday at PhotoPlus Expo/WPPI East, but I’m honored to share this interview via Tamara Lackey’s ReDefine Show to get this week started off with little photo gab. And, really, watching this video reaffirms what I’ve always worried…I’ve been blessed with the gift of talkingnonstopthankyouverymuch.

For more interviews and perspectives, definitely check out ReDefine Show for more gab from great people!

Happy Tuesday!

Jasmine, my heart is painfully full with gratitude for the way you put yourself out there. Once again, your post hit home. Like, BAM. Each and every word. Yesterday, I said, "no" to an associate shooting opportunity, because we had difficulty negotiating fair terms and also because something felt "off." In my short first season of wedding shooting, I have met incredibly supportive photographers, and I have trust in something much bigger than me that if I’m meant to be successful in documenting people’s love for each other, it will come. I don’t have to push and force a solution or race to the finish line. I can value myself, choose patience, and keep putting one step in front of the other and enjoy this journey for all it’s worth. You are a blessing and an example of God’s grace, and I am thankful for you and the other supportive, positive, kind, successful talent in our community. XXOO

And re: criticisms – haters gonna hate baby! your views on such people/situations keeps me going i when the haters get me down. I *still* always think "what would Jasmine do?" does that make me nutso?!

Thank you so much for being brave to step out and walk on the water in faith! Continue to keep your eyes on Jesus and He will help you soar to heights you can never fathom! 🙂

Jasmine, you are brilliant and inspirational! I totally was starting to feel (earlier in the year) that some of your shoots were resembling previous shoots (slightly) and THEN…BAM! You started in a different direction and your pictures went right back to looking fresh and inspirational. My friend, you are in no funk! You’re doing great great work!
