WPPI : Photographer’s Ignite

It was the last day of WPPI in Las Vegas and I was lucky enough to be a part of Photographer’s Ignite. If you’re unfamiliar with the platform, a speaker is given five minutes to present a topic…yes, it’s timed and corresponding slides indicate the passing of 15 second intervals. In other words: AGONY. Collecting thoughts and presenting a cohesive idea in 300 seconds was the hardest thing I’ve done, but I’m honored to have been given the opportunity.

I couldn’t have created this presentation without two special people:
1. Melanie. She’s my best friend and she rescued me in my time of need. Mel helped form my ideas and take on a new life.
2. JD. Because I memorized my presentation, he was the unlucky person who listened (and listened) to me practice in our hotel room. I’m incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive teammate. To see more five minute presentations from other amazing speakers, definitely check out Photographer’s Ignite. And for those of you who offered kind words of support, THANK YOU. I was shaking like.a.leaf on stage, so reading your encouragement on Facebook and Twitter was much appreciated…I thank you, friends.

Today I had to say thank you for this, so much! It was something I needed to hear today. I needed to realize that some of the struggles were normal, especially the negative static you can come across in this business. I can’t thank you enough for helping me to pick up my chin, get back on track, and photoshop out the ugly words of others in this business! Than you for always being a positive reinforcement and an inspiration to others!
