I Blame the Sandwiches

It's really sort of strange. In the past couple of months since we've moved, life for JD and me hasn't really changed. Even though it supposed to. We consciously made changes to enhance our lives, but we slithered back to what we've become accustomed. Like I said, it's strange.

Our master bathroom has two sinks, but we just use one. Because that's what we're used to.

We bought a considerably bigger bed, but I insist on sleeping so close to JD one might think I'm administering CPR while I slumber. Because that's what we're used to.

Our last dining room table was only big enough for Lego people. We now have a larger dining room table, but I think both of us sitting at the head feels more cozy. Because that's what we're used to.

I now have a separate upstairs office with all my own space, but I insist on working next to JD on the living room couch for as long as I can. And it often times drives him nuts. My singing. Talking to myself. How loudly I type. My soy chicken sandwich cravings. It drives him nuts, but we still work together. Because that's what we're used to.

I'm sure a day will come when we've grown into our space, but for now we're content doing things the way we're used to. We're working on decorating our place, but it's taken much longer than we anticipated…partly because when we finally start making headway in choosing furniture and accessories, I'm off making myself a soy chicken sandwich. The good news is that the dining room curtains I ordered from Anthropologie.com finally arrived and I'm ecstatic with them. I seriously rubbed myself against them like I was a cat for the first few hours after they arrived. Meeeeeeow.

Okay, so while it may appear I'm decorating my dining like your local Chinese restaurant, I'm not. These fabulous peacock curtains are just a small part of a vintage, yet modern look. I'll be posting pictures when the rooms are complete, so I'm hoping for the best. If I can stay away from soy chicken sandwiches long enough, I may have them posted by 2013.
