In law school, the entire One L class is divided into sections. The 30-40 people in your section become your friends, peers, and family. These people witness you at your most shining moments of brilliance as well as dark valleys of sheer stupidity, and—somehow through it all—remain friends enough to go out for Bar Review every Thursday night.

As fate would have it, Kori and Logan were placed in the same section during their first year at UCLA Law School. They—like most every other student—sat petrified in their seats during the onset of classes, but relaxed in the company of their friends. And they were just that: friends.

Until one day.

I mean, I don’t want to sound cheesey…I really don’t…but there was something about her. Kori had this beautiful spirit and I knew she was special. Logan brightens as he speaks about Kori, almost making the mahogany ceiling of La Paella seem less dark. As he animatedly recounts how they fell in love, Kori stands with her arms akimbo and smiles bashfully. Apparently, she agrees with Logan’s blissful account.

While Kori and Logan are happy to soon graduate law school, they realize they’ll be walking away with more than a juris doctorate…they’ll be walking away with each others’ hearts and souls…leaving the Socratic method, lecture halls, and final exams far behind them.

Kori and Logan started their engagement session at one of their favorite restaurants, La Paella. It's a place where they've spent time dining, studying, and–incidentally–falling in love.

As they flipped through their law books, I couldn't help but feel like life had come full circle. There, the three of us sat and gazed ominously at the oversized books. I, too, went to UCLA Law School, but God had other plans for me…and I'm SO stoked to do what I love! And I'm stoked for Kori and Logan because they are going to pursue what they love as well! 🙂

At the end of the engagement session, Kori pointed to a small island dividing San Vincente Boulevard and asked if they'd be able to get a few shots amongst the traffic…love it! 🙂
