Photog Shootout

A few weeks ago, I was asked to speak to a group of photographers, who are part of the Photog Shootout Facebook Group. I was struck with the overall sincerity of this group and volunteered to speak and shoot with 50 students…and I had a blast! The group met at Sarducci's in San Juan Capistrano, where I gave a short presentation then we headed out for some fun.

There were different groups, so I floated from each one talking to people and learning from others. To my pleasant surprise, my friend Troy Grover and his newly minted fiance, Aimee Tangeman, were a few of the models, so many thanks to them for their fabulousness! And much, much appreciation to the many leaders who put together the event…everything was executed fantastically and I know everybody learned a ton!

I didn't shoot too much, but here are a few I grabbed of Troy and Aimee…

I decided to shoot the entire day at a f/1.2…oh, just because I thought it'd be fun!

Love this photo…Troy's smile…Aimee in the lower left corner…and the BOKEH!

I learned a TON from Doug and Henry, who taught a group about diffusers and silk reflectors…

Back to natural lighting along the traintracks where the ever fab Aimee worked it for the camera…

I'll end with my favorite shot of the day…LOVE YOU Troy and Aimee!! 🙂

JD was also shooting, so here's some behind the scene shots…I don't know whether I should love him, or hate him for these! 😉

Happy Thursday!
