The Reality of Motivation

Motivation is a funny thing… because it’s impossible to be motivated all the time.

Truth be told, I don’t know how to motivate someone else, and I barely know how to motivate myself.

Why? Because that looks different for each person.

  • Some people are motivated by money.
  • Others are motivated by legacy.
  • And others are motivated by ease.
The Reality of Motivation

More than that, motivation feels good, but it doesn’t derive results.

>>I don’t think motivation is what a business owner needs. A business owner needs to develop discipline.<<

But discipline isn’t sexy and it certainly isn’t fun.

>>Discipline requires doing something again and again while iterating.<<

And that, Buttercup, is what gets results.

I don’t want to motivate people to feel good about social media, I want to give them the tools to be disciplined and show up well to build the business of their dreams.

You can have the best business, the best product, the best service, the best brand, but if people don’t know you exist, you’ll find yourself dead in the water.

So, you will never hear me say that I am motivational. What I do is teach people how to build habits and systems, and that comes on the back of discipline.
