How to maximize your reach on Facebook

The Basics

Facebook is one of the most commonly used social media platforms in the world. In fact, many consider it a pioneer in the industry. With that in mind, you’ll find a little bit of everything available. Facebook allows text only posts, photos, videos, Stories… you name it.

Facebook also has many ways to share your content, including personal profiles, business pages, and designated groups.

Really, you’ll find a way to connect with anyone.

Audience Demographics

With literally billions of daily users, it’s likely your Ideal Client can be found on Facebook. 56% of Facebook users are men, and it is most popular with men and women age 35-44. Facebook is least popular with women who are 16-24.

Content Types

In order to get the maximum reach for each platform, it’s important to know what they expect of you and the content you create. Facebook provides several content types that will allow you to reach your desired audience:

  • Status – text only
  • Feed Posts – graphics, photos, video
  • Reels – short video clips
  • Stories – only last 24 hours
  • Live Video – broadcast

Recommended Cadence

How often should you post on Facebook? The answer will be different for everyone because there really isn’t a right or a wrong answer. So much of that depends on you, your lifestyle, and your content creation capacity.

But, if you want to know what I aim for, here are my goals:

  • 1-2 Feed Posts/Day. This includes text only, Reels, photos, carousels, and long-form video.
  • Share 3-5 Story slides each day
  • Go Live 1 time per week
  • Share a guide around commonly asked questions at least once per month
