How to Create Reels That Are REAL

Have you ever watched a Reel that made you feel stumped or confused, and you wondered why someone filmed THAT Reel?

Has it stopped you from filming your own because you don’t wanna make things (or feel) awkward in the same way?

We’ve all been there…

Believe it or not, Instagram Reels are the hardest content to create (for me), yet I’ve committed to consistency because I need to learn how to get better.

Here’s why:

>>Filming Reels that educate, empower, and entertain personalizes your business and builds trust.<<

And when you build trust with your followers, you don’t just have passive scrollers, you have raving fans that support your business long-term.

So my question for you is this: Are you willing to get comfortable doing the uncomfortable?

If you want to:

  • Get more followers,
  • Increase views, and
  • Grow your business…

I hope you answered, “Yes!” because the more people know, like, and trust you, the likelier it is they’ll buy into what you offer and become a customer.

You with me? Good. Let’s get into how you can do this.

How to Create Reels That Are Real

Film and post a Reel at least 2-3 times a week (or more!).

Consistency is key to growth and results. A lot of people say to me, “I filmed a Reel but nobody engaged… It doesn’t work!”

You can’t just film once and then rule it out! You have to carefully test before you can make an educated decision to continue implementing a strategy or to change it all together.

Be yourself.

The moment you’re speaking about doing something that isn’t aligned with who you or your business is, people will smell it. People know when you’re not speaking your truth!

>>Don’t be everything to everyone, go deep with the people who came to this party and forget the rest.<<

Get personal. Don’t always be “selling.”

When you film your Reel, be sure to offer value. Either:

  • Educate
  • Empower
  • Entertain

Remember to include details that push your story and brand forward

Our job as business owners and entrepreneurs is to bring people on a journey but not tire them out!

Give them a peek into your personal life from a professional perspective. Getting personal builds a brand, which is the opposite of selling.

>>I believe the strongest influencers, business owners, and thought purveyors create a brand.<<

Your brand is how you make people feel, and what they say about you when you walk out of the room.

Are you ready to get personal with your followers and create raving fans?

I’m going to continue creating Reels that involve me dancing and having fun (despite the strangers on the internet who hate it… and despite my mother’s disdain) because I’m exploring.

I’m forcing myself to get curious. I’m disciplining my marketing efforts, regardless of how I feel when people make jokes about my smooth-like-butter dance moves.

Okay, smooth like FROZEN butter. But, still. Butter nonetheless.

I can choose to be embarrassed and let someone else’s opinion stop my curiosity, exploration, and (let’s be real) gritty hustle…

Or I can choose to play the music so loud it drowns out their opinions. What will you choose? Whatever you decide, you don’t have to do it alone.
